Consumer Collections

Review overdue consumer balances for collection, with the account type, records and history considered before acceptance.

Service formatConsumer recovery arrangement

Start with the account and its history.

Consumer collections concerns balances owed by individuals for consumer obligations. Tell us the account type, age, location, previous follow-up and any dispute. CBEOF reviews the records behind the balance before accepting a placement; medical patient accounts require a separate portfolio review.

We agree on recovery terms, reporting and payment handling for the accepted accounts. You’ll know how to report direct payments, corrected balances and disputes, and how returned accounts are handled. Business collections and routine invoice reminders are different services.

What’s included.

Document the consumer obligation

Identify the nature of the consumer obligation and provide the records supporting the amount claimed.

Describe account age and prior handling

Include account age, any prior placement and the industry when requesting intake and pricing review.

Review medical patient portfolios separately

Medical patient balances require a separately scoped portfolio review; do not assume they follow an undifferentiated collection offer.

Agree on account-change reporting

Agree how disputes, payments received directly by the client, balance adjustments, and returned accounts are reported.

What you’ll receive

  • The acceptance criteria and accounts included in the placement.
  • The required evidence and authorized client instructions.
  • Activity, account-status and recovery reporting within the agreement.
  • The agreed payment and remittance process.
  • The route for disputes, account corrections and returned accounts.

How it works.

  1. Review the consumer accounts

Review account type, evidence, balance history, disputes and prior handling before individual accounts or a portfolio are accepted.

  2. Agree on placement and updates

Name the accepted accounts, recovery terms, reporting and payment handling. Define how direct payments, corrected balances and client instructions will be supplied.

  3. Track activity and account changes

Perform the agreed work and report activity, current status and matters needing documentation or a client decision. Keep exceptions and returns within the accepted scope.

Know what to expect.

We’ll confirm the work, the updates you’ll receive and who to contact along the way.

  • The accepted obligation types, account evidence and separately reviewed portfolio requirements.
  • The payment and remittance arrangement and the method for updating balances or direct payments.
  • Who supplies dispute documentation and how exceptions, restrictions and returned accounts will be communicated.

What helps us help you.

  • The type of consumer obligation, account volume, balances, aging and jurisdiction.
  • The agreement, itemized charges, statements and payment or credit history.
  • Known disputes, prior placement, account restrictions or questions requiring separate portfolio review.
  • The authorized client contact who can clarify records and provide current account changes.

What shapes your quote.

  • Account type and portfolio characteristics.
  • Balance, aging, and previous placement.
  • Documentation and dispute handling.
  • Jurisdiction and agreed research or administration.

Tell us what you need help with. We’ll explain which records are needed and how to provide them. Personal reports, ID images and account files can wait until then.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about this service?

A few details to help you decide.

Ask another question
Are old and newly overdue accounts treated identically?

No. Aging, documentation, earlier efforts, and the type of obligation affect the acceptance review and proposed terms.

Are medical balances a separate primary service?

No. They are a consumer-collection use case requiring a separately scoped account or portfolio review.

Does submitting a request begin collection activity?

No. An inquiry supplies information for review. Accounts proceed only after the scope and placement arrangement are accepted.
