People & programs

Nonprofits & Community Organizations

Screen employees and volunteers, review driving records and discuss documented program fees or business accounts.

Volunteers sort food donations at a community distribution table.

Checks for the people who make your mission possible.

Paid staff and volunteers can have different access and responsibilities. Start with the role, whether it includes driving or youth-facing work, and the screening purpose your organization needs to address.

Account support concerns a documented payment obligation that can be reviewed. Explain whether the balance relates to program fees or contracted services; an unfulfilled donation pledge is not automatically treated as a collection account.

Frequently asked questions

Questions before we talk?

Answers to help you move forward with confidence.

Ask another question
Can volunteer screening be requested without an employment relationship?

Describe the volunteer role and the purpose of the request. The available background checks, required information and accepted process can then be defined for that role instead of labeling it as an employee request.

Can we place unpaid donation pledges for collection?

Do not assume a pledge is an accepted collection account. Explain the underlying agreement and nature of the obligation first so the request can be reviewed; the services here focus on documented eligible accounts.

Do youth programs need a separate screening conversation?

Yes. Identify youth-facing roles and the organization’s specific screening instructions. The checks selected for a general volunteer role should not automatically be treated as satisfying every youth program pathway.
