Skip tracing and locate research for Florida organizations

Research available contact or location information for a known person or business, with a clear purpose and research limit.

A researcher compares a street map, address notes and public-record folders.

Find information when a contact goes quiet.

A customer has stopped responding, an address appears out of date or a matter needs better contact information. CBEOF discusses skip tracing and locate research for Florida businesses, property teams and law firms. Tell us what you already know and why the information is needed.

We agree on permitted sources, the research limit, price and findings report before starting. Advanced cases, business locates, beneficiary work and asset research need separate review and availability confirmation. A lead does not automatically verify current occupancy, successful contact or completed document service.

How businesses use this service.

Locate research for law firms

State the case purpose, known identifiers and contact question the firm wants answered. Separate research findings from legal judgment, physical service and any later court-support assignment.

Contact research for property account reviews

Tell us the last known contact details and the account question you are trying to answer. Contact research can help fill that gap; it does not decide a balance or tenancy dispute.

Locate research for financial services accounts

Define the responsible person or entity and the business purpose. Request a contact or location review separately from asset research, underwriting or a recovery decision.

Is this the service you need?

When this fits

  • You have a known person, business or account contact and a specific information gap.
  • You need available contact or location leads researched for a documented purpose.

Other services that may help

A research lead is not automatically a verified current address. Additional verification or field work requires separate scope.

What’s included.

Identify the subject and purpose

Tell us who or which business you need researched and the legitimate reason for the request. Known details, prior addresses and earlier research help us review whether the case can be accepted.

Agree on the research limit

Standard research has a source and effort limit. If more work may help, agree on the additional research and cost before extending the search.

Review an address already supplied

Use a supplied-address review when the question concerns an existing subject/address association. That is different from requesting a new-address search.

Distinguish locating from business verification

Business Locate investigates location or contact information for the assignment. Business Verification separately checks registration, status, and stated entity details.

Check specialist scope and availability

Specialist, advanced, beneficiary, and asset scopes are optional or planned where indicated. Public-record leads must stay distinguishable from confirmed ownership, occupancy, or a legal conclusion.

What you’ll receive

  • The accepted subject, purpose, research question and effort limit.
  • Available contact, address or business leads within that scope.
  • Source or evidence context for material findings where permitted.
  • Conflicting, unavailable and unresolved information labeled clearly.
  • A record of any additional question or research separately approved.

How it works.

  1. Describe the information gap

Explain why the information is needed, who or which business is involved and what you already know. We’ll check the sources permitted for the request.

  2. Research within the agreed limit

Research the selected contact or location question within the agreed limit. Adding subjects or extending the search needs your approval.

  3. Review leads and unanswered questions

Review available leads, the evidence behind them and anything still unconfirmed. Use those findings to decide whether another step is needed.

Know what to expect.

We’ll confirm the work, the updates you’ll receive and who to contact along the way.

  • The subject, permitted business purpose and exact contact or location question.
  • The research limit and the approval needed before adding sources, subjects or further work.
  • How leads, conflicting information and unavailable findings will be distinguished for your next decision.

What helps us help you.

  • The specific locate or contact question and the business purpose behind it.
  • Known subject names and identifiers, to be transferred using the instructions we provide.
  • Earlier addresses, related business names and relevant previous research.
  • The deadline, research budget and person authorized to approve further work.

What shapes your quote.

  • Known subject and quality of starting information.
  • Standard, advanced, or specialist research scope.
  • Permitted sources and verification effort.
  • Volume, time limit, and any accepted timing request.

Tell us what you need help with. We’ll explain which records are needed and how to provide them. Personal reports, ID images and account files can wait until then.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about this service?

A few details to help you decide.

Ask another question
Is a locate result a verified current address?

Not automatically. The report should explain what the sources support and what remains unconfirmed. Current occupancy, successful contact, and in-person verification are different claims and must not be inferred from an address lead.

Can skip tracing be used outside collections?

Yes, an accepted locate assignment may support other documented business or legal-support needs. The purpose, authority, permitted sources, and delivery remain part of the scope review.

What if a standard search is inconclusive?

An inconclusive result should be reported as such. Advanced research is a separately reviewed extension with a time or budget limit; there is no assumption that more effort guarantees a result.

Can you research an already named beneficiary?

Describe the documented matter and named person. Ordinary known-person work may fit a standard scope; specialized beneficiary work needs its own documentation and availability review. Unknown-heir research is a different proposed extension.

Is batch contact appending the same service?

No. A batch file uses defined matching and delivery rules across many records. A locate case is researched around a specific subject and question. Use Contact Data Enrichment & Refresh for the planned batch service.
